What is Trans-Oral surgery?
Surgery inside the stomach or esophagus can be done with the help of long thin flexible instruments introduced through the mouth. As the instruments have working channels, procedures can be performed from within the gut and therefore avoid the need to do open or laparoscopic surgery.
Once the instrument is in position within the stomach, working tools are advance through working channels and using a combination of moving devices, suction channels, fasteners, staplers, surgeons can operate from within.
